And you thought that it was impossible for anyone to have an opinion about fuel samplers? Think again! We have an opinion about everything. While the screw-driver testers are a neat idea, the plastic pins they all come with are weak. If your not careful, they will break over time. These types of testers are convenient because their narrow profile makes it easier to fit into your flight bag, and the screw driver may come in handy from time to time. Still, we prefer the standard fuel tester cup with the metal pin because they last! If your flying a piper, you may not need the pin however, at which point we would recommend the screw-driver type tester.
As for the Carbon Monoxide Detector, they are good little devices but don't last very long. After 90 days, they'll turn dark anyway, which might scare the heck out of you if you do not remember when you opened the package.

Carbon Monoxide (CO) is a toxic, odorless, and tasteless gas produced by the incomplete combustion of gasoline, kerosene, natural gas, butane, propane, fuel oil, wood, coal, and other fossil fuels. Dangerous levels of CO can be produced by internal combustion engines or from any poorly vented or improperly adjusted fuel-burning appliance. Exposure to CO may cause sickness, headaches, or even death. This Carbon Monoxide Detector can save a pilot's life, especially when flying with the heater on, by warning of the presence of CO in the cockpit-the spot will turn gray/black when CO is in the air.
